Best Habit Tracking Templates Made by Obedience Users
A few weeks ago, we released a new feature in the Obedience app—an option to export your habits, rewards, and punishments as a template that other users can import. This feature aims to keep the entry threshold for using the Obedience app as low as possible and allow our community to support each other in their journeys to work on their dynamics. We have written about it previously in our newsletters, and you can find the "how to" on our Instagram or in the video clip below.
In the same spirit, in April 2024, we organized a contest for our users, giving everyone a chance to contribute and make a difference. We asked about their experiences using the Obedience app within their specific dynamics, about tips and lessons they wanted to share with the rest of the community and to provide a template link to their setup in our app.
First, the Obedience team picked ten amazing templates and left the choice of the top three to our community. Below, you can find the winning templates with descriptions and links as well as read about what other users find helpful in their user experience with the Obedience app.

To help you optimize your Obedience use, we summarised the advice from all contestants so that you can learn from their experiences and mistakes.
1. Keep Your App Setup Simple and Achievable
When managing your daily life, especially with neurodivergence, which often overlaps with being kinky, it is best to keep things simple. Recognize what you can realistically handle each day. Start small: pick a few daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
Put some thought into matching them with meaningful rewards. This makes each task feel important, and every reward is a little celebration. You can slowly add more fun and challenging tasks as you get the hang of your “starter” tasks. According to the Obedience app veterans, the tricky bit is getting started - but the more you use the app, the more straightforward it will become.
2. Be Mindful When Creating New Tasks
Thinking about how you structure the daily tasks for the submissive within the dynamic can make or break the benefits of using the Obedience app. You have already established what is achievable on a typical day. Also, think about when the tasks must be completed—aiming for before midnight avoids confusion.
Further, contestants suggested organizing tasks and the consequences of missing them or misbehavior by seriousness. A small mistake? That’s a "level one" issue—no big deal. But if something keeps happening, that’s "level two" and might need a firmer approach. You can use the same approach when setting the number of points the sub will receive for each task and how many are needed to buy rewards. It helps to keep the whole experience feeling balanced and fair.
3. Use Obedience for Everything Related to Your BDSM Dynamic
Putting all your agreements, rules, tasks, and rewards in one place is a game-changer. No more scattered papers or switching between apps. It makes it so much easier to keep track of everything. This way, you can always see how you’re doing and adjust things on the fly.
4. Keep Updating Your Obedience App Setup
It is okay to change your routine up every once in a while. If things start to feel too easy or you forget to check your tasks off, it’s time to refresh. Update your habits to meet new challenges or changes in your life. Keeping your setup evolving with you keeps it useful and keeps you engaged.
5. Get Inspired to Build a Detailed BDSM Routine
When you start to build up to more detailed routines slowly, you will need inspiration. Fellow Obedience users suggest taking a dive into the contents of our blog and learning from other after joining the Obedience Discord server. This template includes daily habits of getting sufficient sleep, maintaining household cleanliness, eating properly, practicing good hygiene, regular exercise with pet care, and engaging in creative activities. It reinforces healthy habits and regular routines, which can support the submissive partner’s personal growth and well-being while also enriching the relationship dynamic.
